Protect your calves from coccidiosis right where it starts.
Coccidiosis is a costly intestinal disease caused by coccidia,
a parasite found in virtually all calves.
Although the potential for a major outbreak always exists, only about 5% of infected calves
show signs of infection. The bigger problem is subclinical coccidiosis, which occurs in
the remaining 95%. Before the outward signs develop, performance can be severely
compromised through lowered conversion and weight gain.1
Effective, economical prevention is one of the keys to successful preconditioning and receiving
programs. Healthier animals convert feed more efficiently 1 and are better
prepared to fight off the challenge of coccidiosis.
The more you know, the more informed decision you’ll be able to make to protect your investment.
It is estimated that 70% of the coccidia life cycle takes place in the small intestine.
Deccox®, a powerful anticoccidial feed additive, works directly in the small intestine
where it effectively halts the development of the two most economically significant
coccidia in cattle - Eimeria bovis and Eimeria zuernii.
- Deccox brings superior coccidiosis control to your calves.
- Deccox-fed heifer calves tended to eat more feed and gain more weight
than Rumensin®-fed calves.2
- Deccox is safe to use in calves.
- When fed at 12 ½ times the recommended level in cattle, Deccox showed no
adverse effect on weight gain and no adverse histopathological observations.2
- Deccox is more palatable than Rumensin.
- In a feedlot cattle study, those calves receiving Deccox plus CTC ate more
than those calves receiving Rumensin.3 That’s important not only for
coccidiosis control, but also performance.
- Deccox is approved for use in milk replacers and whole milk for even greater flexiblity.
Deccox Plus Aureomycin®
Deccox Plus Aureomycin® delivers simultaneous protection from coccidiosis and BRD.
- To help your cattle overcome the stresses that can trigger a coccidiosis outbreak, use the Deccox Plus Aureomycin combination.3
- Deccox prevents coccidiosis, while Aureomycin treats respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella multocida.
- Ranch-to-rail studies show that feeding Aureomycin at 10 mg/lb bodyweight can result in fewer respiratory treatments than controls.4
Prevents coccidiosis right from the start.
