The more you know about ionophores, the better you can identify the one that will yield the greatest return on investment.
Over the years, we’ve conducted extensive field trials to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of Bovatec in a wide variety of beef and dairy situations.
Trial after trial, the results show that Bovatec helps protect your investment. For example:
• 12 studies confirm that Bovatec is the superior choice in cattle on high-fiber diets, outperforming monensin in daily gain (2.36 vs. 2.26) and feed/gain (8.24 vs. 8.78).
• Studies show that heifers fed Bovatec gain weight faster, reach breeding age sooner and calve earlier.
Bovatec’s excellent palatability and high margin of safety help ensure optimum feed intake and dose levels to maximize your return on investment.

Bovatec® (lasalocid) is field-proven ionophore widely used in cattle to control coccidiosis and optimize feed efficiency/gain.
It is the only ionophore approved to control coccidiosis in cattle starting at birth, before clinical signs of disease appear.
Bovatec is also the only ionophore approved for use with Aureomycin® (chlortetracycline), a combination that lets you manage coccidiosis and the leading pathogens that cause bovine respiratory disease at the same time.
Because feeds containing Bovatec are highly palatable, no step-up programs are ever required. You can also count on Bovatec to reach optimum coccidiosis-control levels earlier in a calf’s life than other ionophores. In fact, Bovatec has been shown to reduce shedding of coccidiosis oocysts – the parasitic eggs that spread coccidiosis — by an amazing 97 percent.
Bovatec also has a wide margin of safety. Its toxicity level is one-half that of monensin’s. In safety trials, researchers showed Bovatec could be fed 5 times the recommended dose level with no adverse affect on cattle. Using Bovatec also leads to improved performance an returns.
